word 2007's Special Get Started Tab
Is It Worth the Download?

Microsoft now offers a Get Started tab as an add-in for Word 2007. The purpose of the tab is to help us all get acquainted with the new Word. You can download the Get Started tab here:

Word 2007 Get Started Tab

If you ask me, the Get Started tab is a little underwhelming. Every button on the toolbar opens up your web browser and then takes you to information on the Microsoft Office web site. You'll find some online demos, videos and a Word user forum. Some of these web resources are helpful while others are more promotional in nature. In any case, I'm not sure I want to clutter up my Ribbon with a bunch of web links.

Best Button of the Bunch
For my money the most interesting button on the Get Started tab is the first one on the left "Interactive Guide." It leads to a web-based tool that lets you choose a command on a simulated Word 2003 menu and toolbar layout, and then it explains how to find the same command in Word 2007.
